You know how water fountains actually shoot 2 streams of water that hit each other & turn into one? Does anyone know why they do that instead of just having one stream that goes where it is supposed to? At any rate, when I was in 4th grade we discovered that if you plug up the lower stream, which has more volume that the upper stream, it more than doubles the pressure to the upper one. We used to stick our little 4th grade fingers in there and shoot water all the way down the hall.
Things got even better when we discovered that you could also plug it with chewed gum which had the dual advantage of causing someone to get a water squirted up their nose like a mini fire hose, as well as letting them know that they just drank your spit.
